I love the clinical reasoning that goes into finding and treating the source of a client’s problem. I enjoy helping people heal and contributing to their attainment of their goals, whether those be participating in an elite athletic event, returning to exercise after having a child, or simply being able to walk around the block.
As a competitive athlete, I’ve experienced many injuries firsthand. Seeing physiotherapists from a young age made me appreciate the hands-on approach of the profession. I enjoy working with the other clinicians at The Sports Clinic to address all aspects of the patient’s health—the physical, the psychological and emotional, the nutritional.
I hold a BSc in Kinesiology from McMaster University and an MSc in Physiotherapy from Queens University. I have taken courses in advanced manual therapy and acupuncture and am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy, earning a Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2015. Influenced by Kevin Fairfield’s practice in osteopathy at The Sports Clinic I have taken courses in visceral manipulation and cranial sacral therapy. Most recently, I pursued course work in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and plan to take more courses in Pelvic Health and Visceral/Myofascial release.
to further help my low back and hip pain patients. These courses also opened up my eyes to treating other Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions, such as incontinence, prolapse, and male and female pelvic pain. I have a special passion for this population - doing what I can to educate people about these issues and break the taboo of talking about problems 'down there'.
